2 weeks to go until we leave. One more week at work and then it will be go, go, go.
Must finish all the paperwork this week with all necessary maps photocopied and directions for each ride put in the booklets.
We have started packing the trailer with items that aren't used often but they are things we need for bush camps.
The food boxes are labelled for the 1st leg. I practiced some recipes yesterday but have decided a couple of them are not suitable for out in the wilderness for various reasons; mainly they flopped or they would melt too easily.
We have ordered a few more larger sizes in the shirts as they are quite small sizing.
We thought we may have some competitions along the way to give the riders some fun as well as a lifetime experience.
1. Photography competition with a different theme for each week or leg. Winning photos will feature in the ride book with permission from the photographer.
2. A time trial/race on the shortest riding day on each leg.
3. The best literary piece on each leg.
We have also bought a book to capture all the funny quotes and experiences along with words of wisdom that the riders hear while out on the road or while stopping in towns and listening to the locals. This will replace the whinge book we had last trip.
We have also bought another book for improvement suggestions for the riders to write in as we travel.
Still have 15 riders with one extra who may still make the ride.
